Secure sources tells us that Chris Bartender has been frequenting Musikkloftet in Oslo, apparantly recording the new Big Muff 68 album! As far as bigmuff68.com know, twelve songs have been recorded! We'll be back with more news as soon as we know it!

June 7th, 2007:

Recording of Big Muff 68's first ever album starts July 2nd. Personally I don't know what to believe. We at bigmuf68.com have heard that the band has started recording the album many times, so why should it be true now? We just have to wait and see, but personally I'm beginning to lose hope...

February 21st, 2006:

Good news and bad news. Bad news first. Because of other commitments and hectic schedules for all members, the album has again been postponed. The recording process will be picked up June/July. The good news is - that it will happen...

November 3rd , 2005:

We at Bigmuff68.com are very proud to announce that we have finally been able to get hold of the renowned video for "1,000,000x Before". This baby has been seriously underestimated by the Norwegian media - only the respectable ZTV has done it justice and aired it. This video is now old, and while we wait for the new album and possibly a new video, we encourage you to download it and show it to all your friends!

What? Am I correct? Is there a new song available for download on NRK urørt you say? YUP! Does that mean something is happening in the Big Muff 68 camp again? YUP! Does that mean we can be expecting live shows in the near future? YUP! How about that record you said were being recorded? Will that be finished too, and perhaps be released early next year? YUP! Any news in the Big Muff 68 camp since the last time? YUP!

Ocotber 8th, 2004:

Big Muff 68 are currently in the studio recording their first full length album. Working title being "One Man Down", 16 tracks have been recorded, and they are currently doing the finishing touches on the guitars. One of the tracks, "This Drug Will Set you Free", has been temporarily mixed to be included on the Mas-Kina Recordings' "Follo For Faen" sampler, due out December 3rd 2004.

March 15th, 2004:

Just to kill any rumors; Big Muff 68 has NOT disbanded. The band is merely taking a break while some of the members are pursuing other commitments. Expect much mayhem and nasty hip movements from the 68’s from the summer on. Full length album is expected towards the end of the year! You have been warned!

January 30th, 2004:

Big Muff 68's single "Swing Metal" is almost sold out, and will not be re-pressed. Therefore the band has decided to put the entire single out for download at NRK Urørt.
If you want a copy of the single you should hurry up, as there are about 15 left on stock.

January 21st 2004:

The video for "1,000,000x Before" is now available. The video has had quite a few spins on ZTV but has for some strange reason not been aired on NRK2's "Svisj" concept just yet. As a result we've had a lot of complaints here at bigmuff68.com. Because of NRK's disappointing decision so far, Big Muff 68 has granted bigmuff68.com to put out the entire video on our website. In light of the email given to Big Muff 68 two weeks ago, there has been a lot of talk on the town whether the members of Big Muff 68 are indeed fuckers. The band has therefore issued this press release:

"There has been a lot of talk about Big Muff 68 and the email from the distinguished Jazz place "Bare Jazz AS", claiming that Big Muff 68 are "fuckers". We are flattered that some fans take extra special interest in the band. However, we are private people, and we feel we have to put things straight once and for all.
Two of the members of Big Muff 68 have girlfriends, and naturally have sex. The remaining three members, though they might not have a girlfriend at this point, actually also have sex on occasion. In light of this information, Big Muff 68 has come to the conclusion that we are indeed fuckers. We hope that our fans don't disrespect us for this, as it is a totally natural thing to do, and hundreds of people around the world do it every day. We hope this press release will put the rumors to sleep and turn the focus back on to the musical aspect of the band. Thank you.

Bigmuff68.com got a mail from the established Jazz hangout "Bare Jazz" in Oslo. Here's the entire email. Note that the email was actually written in English, this is not a translation:

PS: Do we care if "someone else" did it?

Obviously some crazed Big Muff 68 fan has planted a BM68 sticker on the place's sign, and irritated the owner. This is of course very sad news for us here at bigmuff68.com. We made those stickers so that they would be used on sticker friendly places! Unfortunately someone has crossed the line and done the unthinkable. We appeal in particular to the Big Muff 68 fans with stickers: Stop the madness!! There are better things in life! And please; at no circumstance must you put stickers up at Bare Jazz AS!

Again, bigmuff68.com is very very sorry. We had no idea the BM68 fans could be so reckless...

October 10th, 2003:

Yesterday saw Big Muff 68 take a giant leap for mankind. The video release was a blast, topped by a great live performance. Thanks, Big Muff 68!!!! The video will air on TV for the first time on ZTV November 5th. It is also scheduled for spins on the NRK2 "Svisj" show. We will also try to have it available for download here as well, so stay tuned!

September 23rd, 2003:

For the first time in history, a whole BM68 song is available for download, at NRK's "Urørt". Why the band has decided to post it there and not on their official web site, bigmuff68.com don't know! Anyway, get over there and download the song and vote it up! If not for us, then at least for the band!

There will be a somewhat special entry fee at the video release party to be held at Blue Moon October 9th. To lure people into buying clothes they don't really need, here is the price list:

September 15th, 2003:

bigmuff68.com is proud to announce the official release party for Big Muff 68's new video. As you all know, BM68 has made a video for "1,000,000x Before". The event takes place at Blue Moon (old "Snorre") on Rosenkrantz Gate, October 9th. It is rumored that Big Muff 68 will also perform this evening, plus a few extra supprises, so be there!!! August 25th, 2003:

It's official -- Big Muff 68, Conjacks and Action Pilots are teaming up for a ABC tour in late August. The kick off will take place at Gamla in Oslo on August 27th. The tour continues to following cities: Porsgrunn, Moss and Trondheim. Go to concert section for further information!

August 1st, 2003:

2 new shows are added, check out the concert section. The photos from the videoshoot of "1,000,000x Before" and So What live performance earlier this year is also available, check it out.

July 28th, 2003:

This weekend the boys in Big Muff 68 spent the days shooting a video for "1,000,000x Before". The 100,000 Norwegian Kroner budget video is produced by miracle workers Felix Film, and will be ready late August/early September 2003. A release party will be set in Oslo sometime late August. The 68's has promised to make it an event to remember, so we're looking forward to it. Bigmuff68.com will keep you updated. Photos from the shoot will come soon in the media section, and the video will of course be available in the media section after the release!

July 1st, 2003:

The band will perform live at Barbeint in Oslo on July 9th. New songs will be performed, so be there!

Great news! Big Muff 68's first recording, a three-track single appropriately entitled Swing Metal, has arrived and is ready to ship! Bigmuff68.com is working on a merch page to accommodate the massive interest from the fans. T-shirts are also just finished! Check back to the site regularly for updates on the matter. Also check out the first peek review on the single! Great of course!

March 14th 2003:

January 4th 2003:

bigmuff68.com has gotten permission to publish one one-minute sample from each of the songs from the upcoming single. The single, yet untitled, is rumored to be named "Swing Metal". Whether it will have the same effect as Venom's epic "Black Metal" remains to be seen! The sound of the recording is breathtaking, so get over to the media section and download now! Also, A new gig has been added to the concert section. This time, Trondheim is due.

January 2nd 2003:

The bigmuff68.com crew would like to wish the band and fans a happy new year. Big Muff 68 have finished recording not two, but THREE songs after a most successful recording session at the renowned Caliban Studios in Oslo. The songs recorded are 1.000.000x Before, The Sun Never Seem to Set and White Sugar. They will be mastered today at Strype Audio by mastering guru Tom Kvålsvoll. Mr. Dongery has told bigmuff68.com that they are going for a single instead just a promotion package. Dongery states that "The recording sessions were so vibrant that it felt right to jump to the next level. People needs this, and we're here to give it to them!" And we concur! More news on the single as we get them!

December 21st 2002:

Reliable sources within the BM68 management has revealed that the band will enter the studio during the Christmas holidays for a short promotional recording! The band will be recording two songs for promotional release in compliance to the "Studentersamfunnet i Trondehim"'s annual "the-best-Norwegian-Rock-has-to-offer" CD due out shortly. This is of course very good news for us, the die-hard fans of the band! As soon as bigmuff68.com gets a hold of the goods, we will post the songs in the media section! Also, the band is said to be very "god damn happy with the concert" at Sikamikaniko this last Wednesday. Which ultimately is good news, since they have stated that "the concert is very important for the future of the band".

October 22nd 2002:

As many might have noticed the site has remained unchanged for some time. The reason for this is that the band has had some issues to address and has effectively had a three month hiatus. Now that Surround, Handy and Output has buried the hatchet, Dongery is out of Rehab and Bartender is seeing the end of the Krohn & Co tour where he plays drums, Big Muff 68 are slowly coming to terms with the real world. Rehearsals have started up and some fresh new material has been put on the table. So far the tone between the guys are reported to be good! To mark the occasion one show has been put on the board. If the band doesn't start fighting within that time, one can expect quite an evening! There is also a rumor among hang-arounds that Surround has mentioned a recording mid January, but this has been denied by the band itself! The bigmuff68.com will keep you oriented as time draws near.
